First Place

The Christmas season is upon us! This has got to be my favorite time of year! Christmas lights, Christmas trees, oh, and the Christmas cards. As many of you know, I can be a little particular on things, you know, "details" are important to me. I appreciate it when silverware matches, napkins are properly folded and match.. and on and on I could go. Well, last year, my Christmas Cards turned out beautifully, and Gary's aunt ( a highly sofisicated woman, whom I would like to be like one day) after recieving my card, wrote us a note back saying that our Christmas Card won "first place" at her house for being the most beautiful card.... FIRST PLACE!! And Aunt Susan said so.. that's a hard place to obtain! Anyway, this year I have been in the hunt for the "perfect" Christmas Cards, and I could not find them anywhere! I looked online, Hallmark, I even thought I would go into a printers have them design me some... but then it would be like hundreds of dollars, and well normally I would pay it, but this year I am jobless so that's a big NO! So, I found some "make shifters" at the local Sam's ....I cannot I believe that NO ONE had any gorgous cards! So, I don't think that I will be first place this year, I probably won't even be in the running..

I hate to change the subject here, but in my interior design class, we had to design/make a throw pillow. Our teacher had us line them up in the schools eatery and passer byers vote on which pillow they like the best, my pillow won!!! Out of 10 pillows!! My pillow is a seamed taffeta, with silk tossle fringe with 1/2 millimeters pearls sewn onto all the detail work. So, I got a ribbon that says "Grand Champion" life is good. =)

The Results are In!

As I have made it a well known fact, as of right now I don't have a job. Well, I decided to get brave, and take the Civil Service Test for the State Of Michigan. Well, after that crazy experience, I got my test results back the other day, and I must say, I did pretty good! I now can start applying for jobs! I am so excitied! For the classifications I can apply for, it would start out at $13.00-$15.00 and I would have great benefits! Gary has benefits with his job, however, if I carried our benefits that would mean Gary would get some money kicked back into his salary! So I am asking for all of you to please pray that something will work out that I will be able to get a great job with the state. Oh, another good thing with the State, once I have a kid, I can work "flex" time and not work Monday-Friday. Please pray for the Osbecks.

Thanks,

Love you all...

Hunter's Widow

Ladies and Gentleman, I am home alone this week. My man is being "manly" and hunting. He went up to my parents yesterday, to get all geared up for the week. Tonight he was to "scope" out the blind. My Uncle Larry has a blind made just for Gary. It has electricity running to it. Tomorrow is the opening day. Gary will get up and the butt crack of dawn, drag is sorry butt out in the middle of no where, just to SIT for HOURS just to wait for the big 12 point my uncle been seeing... Yeah right, he will get out there, and just sit and fall asleep until about 10 or so, and then head up to my Grandma's where Grandma will have yummy soup waiting and then he will take a nap.... What a mighty hunter...

The Painted Room

Sometimes I feel as if all I do on this blog is complain. I am sorry I do apolojize, however I must admit it is a great outlet to let people know how you really feel! I have been painting a room for my friend's mother in law. The mother in law is a very nice lady, but will sometimes complain about a- how much she is paying me (she set the hrly rate, by the way) b - how long it is taking me... but now we have a new one! She is now complaining about my job proformace! I must admit, I have been putting my heart and soul into this paint job, because the paint has been funky. It is a dark, dark burghandy with white trim. For some reason, it has been turning out streaky everytime!!! It has left me a nervous wreck! So this mother in law saw the streakyness and called my friend, crying! That I wasn't doing a good job, and I was being sloppy! Needless to say, I went to bed that night crying! I am not a sloppy person, if I make a mess, I will clean it up and second of all, I wasn't done with the project!!!!!!!! AGGGRRRHH!! Anywhoo, I won't be doing anymore jobs for her...

Wild Willy and Kid Talk

Friday night my girlfriends came to visit. This has been a tradition for us for quite a while, get together at my house, go out for dinner and then shop all day Saturday. Jill arrived promptly at 4:30ish, and Kelli at 6:30ish.. We chatted about lives, I got a earful of daycares in hospital, kids schedule in general. Now for the most part, I look forward to having a child for one day, however, at times likes these, I am thankful for my cats and fun husband. Anyway, we went out to dinner for this great Italian restuarant called Bravo. We stuffed ourselves senseless, had a great waitor named Will, and came home and rented a movie. Saturday morning, we got up and went shopping. We shoppped and shopped, I got crazy and bought some hairspray. We went and had a great lunch at Applebees's, and then back for more shopping. After the shopping and complaining about my driving... Jill, you are driving for all the next events...and no, you aren't driving the lincoln. We headed home... Now, I am heading off to work ...
